HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss Men's Track and Field athlete, Cornelius Duncan, was named one of 11 recipients of a Conference USA Postgraduate Scholarship, league commissioner Britton Banowsky announced Monday.

The conference annually presents the $4,000 Postgraduate Scholarship awards to graduates as selected by the Faculty Athletics Representatives and approved by the Board of Directors.

Duncan, who won the 400-meter title at the 2008 C-USA Outdoor Championship, swept both the C-USA Indoor and Outdoor titles in 2007, while earning NCAA All-American status in the 400-meters.

The Birmingham, Ala., native was a four-year letterwinner in both indoor and outdoor track and is scheduled to graduate in December and plans to pursue a master's degree in coaching education at his alma mater.
