FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Southern Miss had two athletes qualify for the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championship, June 11-14, in Des Monies, Iowa. Sophomore Ashley May qualified for her second event, registering a mark of 12.88m (42'3.25") in the triple jump. She placed fifth overall, giving Southern Miss another five points toward a team total. Senior Hana Prudilova qualified for the National Meet for the second consecutive meet, placing second with a school-record and personal-best mark of 50.06m (164'3"). Senior Cornelius Duncan did not qualify automatically after finishing seventh in the finals of the 400 meters with a time of 46.65. Duncan will be played in the national at-large pool from which the NCAA will select the final qualifiers. He will have to wait until Sunday to find out if he will compete in the National Meet.
