FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Southern Miss' track and field performer Ashley May qualified for the NCAA National Meet, June 11-14, after she finished fifth in the long jump with a jump of 6.38m (20'11.25"). The mark was a season-best for May.

Cornelius Duncan ran one of the eight fastest times in the 400 meters, advancing to the finals Saturday. Duncan will have to finish in the top four to advance to the national meet.

Cheris Fletcher failed to move into the finals of the 400 meters, finishing third in her heat with a time of 55.41.

Noah Slater, who competed in the javelin, recorded a throw of 58.34 (191'5").

May will compete in the triple jump Saturday, while Hana Prudilova will compete in the javelin.
